David Peters is a freelance producer, mixer, and songwriter based in the LA area. The PA native’s love for songwriting and recording started him down his path young, recording professionally while still in high school. He then moved on to earn a bachelors degree in music and the recording arts at upstate NY’s Fredonia University, faking his way through a cello audition to get into the program. It was during this time when he was also able to study under producer, David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Weezer, MGMT, Modest Mouse), and assist on a lot of sessions for the now-famous Flaming Lips album, “The Soft Bulletin”.  After graduation David setup shop in Los Angeles, running his own studio along with performing and touring. After securing a record deal with now-defunct UK indie label, Circus (Magnetic Fields), he spent a few years living, performing, and producing artists in London as well as developing projects for UK label, One Little Indian (Bjork, Sneaker Pimps). His next move took him back to upstate NY to a big old country church that was converted into a beautiful live-in recording studio named “The Belfry” which hosted everything from local to national and international indie acts. David’s studio is now located in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles. It is here where he does the majority of his mixing and tracking, though he also works out of LA’s larger facilities when the project requires it. Over the years some great artists have made their way through the studio such as Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith, guitar prodigy Blake Mills (Lucinda Williams, Fiona Apple), Joey Ryan of the Milk Carton Kids, award winning songwriters Amber Rubarth and Adam Levy (gtr. Norah Jones/Amos Lee), Vienna Teng, UK indie darling BISHI, and many many others.
